We are gradually reopening for face-to-face appointments from 03rd June. Find out more.

Ovarian Cancer Action is very excited to have the opportunity to work with Capital Physio during their London challenge events season. Zoe from Ovarian Cancer Action gives us an overview on how challenge events help their charity and how you can get involved.

How challenge events help Ovarian Cancer Action

Sadly a woman dies from ovarian cancer every two hours in the UK. This is something that needs to change.

Breast cancer charities have proven that by driving funding into scientific research and national symptoms awareness, we can drastically improve the survival rates of women with the disease. In the 1980s, approximately 40% of women with breast cancer would survive; however now, over 85% of women with breast cancer beat it.

Ovarian Cancer Action’s primary aim is to ensure that no woman dies from ovarian cancer. We do this by funding our Ovarian Cancer Action Research Centre where we pioneer studies across the spectrum from early diagnosis through to surgery, new treatments and survivorship. We also conduct vital symptoms awareness campaigns throughout the UK.

The work that we do would not be possible without the funds raised from our challenge events, and every pound raised helps make a real difference to women suffering from ovarian cancer today.

Support from Capital Physio

We are very happy that Capital Physio have decided to support our cause by kindly offering all London runners on Team OCA with a FREE 15 minute consultation and a 20% discount on all subsequent treatments.

To top this off, Capital Physio has also kindly offered a FREE sports massage to the top fundraiser for each event. We hope that this exciting incentive will encourage our participants to go above and beyond their fundraising targets and to raise as much as possible for Ovarian Cancer Action.

Would you like to join Ovarian Cancer Action’s Running Team?

We still have places left on our Royal Parks Half Marathon teams and we would love to fill these up as soon as possible. If you think you might be interested in joining Team OCA please get in touch with Zoe, Zoe@ovarian.org.uk .
