What is Pilates?
Pilates is a form of exercise which focuses on strengthening the body, with an emphasis on core strength. Pilates helps to improve overall fitness and wellbeing by concentrating on posture, balance and flexibility.
Reformer Pilates is a challenging, machine-based, whole body experience. Springs, leverage and body weight are used as resistance, while you perform movements targeting specific muscle groups.
Regular practice will improve your core strength and train you to engage your muscles properly. Not only will this improve your athletic performance, it will ease back pain, speed up injury recovery and improve your overall balance and posture.
Our 1-1 sessions are delivered in a modern space, and we welcome everyone to join, from complete beginners to advanced.
Mat Pilates is an exercise class which focuses on the key principles of strength, flexibility and stability. It will help you to improve your body awareness and core strengthening.
What will a Pilates session involve?
To ensure you get the most out of Pilates as a newbie, we start you off with a 1-1 assessment session. This will be with one of our reformer or mat Pilates trained physios.
We discuss your lifestyle and goals, and screen for postural imbalances and movement dysfunctions. We build a tailored program just for you.
This approach enables us to ensure you get the most out of your Pilates experience.
