Unleash your running potential

Improve performance and reduce risk of injury with a RunFit assessment.

Love to run but hate those aches, pains and injuries? Optimise your running performance and reduce your risk of injury with a head-to-toe running assessment and gait analysis in the form of our expert physio-led Bodyset RunFit assessment.

What happens during a RunFit assessment?

1. Lifestyle assessment

There are multiple factors that contribute to your running performance. We’ll talk to you about your nutrition, sleep patterns, rest periods, training programme and other lifestyle factors, as well as your running history and goals.

2. Full-body mobility analysis

How prepared is your body to run? A strong runner has a strong and balanced body, and a thorough running analysis starts on the floor, not on the treadmill! Using cutting-edge equipment, we'll carry out a detailed assessment of your strength, flexibility, and mobility to identify any imbalances or weaknesses that could lead to injury or prevent you from reaching your best running potential.

3. Video gait analysis

What does your current running gait look like? During your gait analysis, we’ll video you running on a treadmill from several angles to capture your foot strike, hip alignment, stride length, cadence, head and shoulder carriage, balance and symmetry of movement, and other key factors that contribute to your unique running style.

4. Instant advice

Knowledge is power. Playing back your running footage, we'll talk you through the detailed insights that your full-body mobility analysis and video gait analysis reveal, and provide you with tips, techniques, and strategies to improve your running technique, and reduce your risk of pain injury so you can unleash your true running potential on road, track or trail!

5. World-class support

We believe that everyone should have access to elite-level support. If we find that you could benefit from further treatment, then we’ll recommend the most appropriate follow-up physiotherapy sessions for you. Should we think you could benefit from bespoke foot support then we'll be able to offer you access to our Footscan technology and Phits 3D printed orthotics, designed to improve comfort, aid rehabilitation and reduce injury risk. Your goal is our goal, so you can expect unlimited hands-on support every step of the way.

Why is a RunFit assessment so important?

Running is now the most popular sport in the UK with over 6.5 million runners nationwide. It’s not surprising, as it’s an accessible and sociable way to exercise with many benefits for both our physical and mental health. However, as many as 79% of runners sustain a running-related injury each year. We want to provide you with the tools to stay injury free and running for longer. We want to you to enjoy running further and faster with less effort!

How is a RunFit assessment better than a free gait analysis at my running shop?

A RunFit assessment is so much more than a shoe shop running gait analysis!

A running shop will provide you with information on how you run, what your foot is doing while running (eg. overpronation, underpronation, neutral track) and advise on suitable running shoes.

Should we think you could benefit from bespoke foot support then we’ll be able to offer you access to our Footscan technology and Phits 3D printed orthotics, designed to improve comfort, aid rehabilitation and reduce injury risk.

But, there are many more factors that contribute to your running performance which go way beyond your running gait and footwear – including your full-body strength, mobility and flexibility, nutrition, sleep patterns, rest periods, training programmes and more. A strong runner has a strong and healthy mind and body. We’re here to understand you and your body, and to help you reach your running goals!

What should I bring and wear to my appointment?

Wear something comfortable. Preferably shorts and a tight-fitting shirt, so we can better assess how you move. Bring the running shoes you run most often in or want to be assessed in and any extra software information you want to share (eg Garmin, FitBit, Strava etc).

Thanks Bodyset!

"My 2022 goal was to run 1000 miles and complete the New York City Marathon. The volume of miles meant I needed to keep my body in good condition as I have previously struggled to keep my calves and achilles injury free. Bodyset's Francesco helped to assess, monitor and strengthen my body which was essential in completing my goal. The RunFit assessment was particularly helpful and insightful. Thanks Bodyset!"
