RunFit - Running Assessment
With tens of thousands of people running in the capital every day, the Bodyset team are forever assessing and treating runners. As an official London Marathon Injury Clinic we’d say that we’re highly experienced in doing so.
In order to provide a gold standard service for all runners, we are excited to announce our RunFit service; a 1-hour comprehensive assessment, which consists of the following:
- Muscle power screening
- Joint mobility
- Video gait analysis
- A personalised management programme which includes exercise therapy and running gait re-education.

What does a RunFit Assessment involve?
1-hour running assessment:
- Detailed history of your running and/or injury.
- Thorough physical screening of major muscle groups integral in running.
- Video gait analysis of your running style with assessment results.
- Personalised management programme.
- Appropriate ‘hands on’ therapy for findings within assessment (deep tissue work, acupuncture, joint mobilisations and manipulations).
Who is RunFit for?
RunFit is appropriate for all running abilities:
- 1st or 10th marathon
- Couch to 5k
- New to running?
- With or withour injuries, equally it’s great for improving performance!
Who might RunFit be beneficial for?
RunFit can benefit all kinds of runners in a number of ways. For instance, it can help you:
- Run pain free.
- Improve personal best (PB).
- In training for an event.
- Prevent injuries from occurring.
Similarly, if you’re new to running and want to ensure you’re on the right track, an assessment is equally beneficial.
What do I need to do for my RunFit appointment?
Following your booking, our client care team will email across a ‘Patient Running Assessment Form’ alongside a consent form for treatment. Please complete both forms and send them to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 24 hours before the appointment. Please note, we are unable to proceed with the appointment without them.
What do I need to wear for my RunFit appointment?
Please bring shorts alongside the footwear and socks worn when running. A vest or T-shirt is preferred (avoid baggy clothing). If applicable, please bring any orthotics, insoles or supports.
All clinics have appropriate changing facilities.
Will I be filmed as part of my RunFit appointment?
Filiming occurs for the purposes of reviewing running gait and biomechanics. However, this data is kept securely and used only within the session, Equally, the footage may also be used for any follow up appointments.
How long does the session run for?
A RunFit assessment is 60 minutes in total.
How much does a RunFit assessment cost?
As with all appointments, prices are set regionally. Our central London RunFit assessment costs £120. In Brigg, an assessment costs £80.
Any physio sessions that are required following the assessment are charged at the physio price rate per region.
Is RunFit covered by private health insurance?
Unfortunately, this is a self-funding service only. As such we are unable to invoice your session to any insurance provider. Following the session, should an invoice be required, please contact our client care team who can assist.
